Mission Accomplished via Outside Rocks

So we went to visit my Mom a couple weeks ago. On the drive back Gdog needed to "go potty" We were not within 60 miles of any gas station--not to mention one I would allow him to go into. So I opted for the "checking the tire" option. (What my family called pottying outside during a road trip.) I took him out of his seat and told him to point at a rock. He looked at me incredulously then, with a little corrective aiming, did it. He LOVED IT!

About 10 minutes later I hear "Mommy, I have to go potty (pause) ....on the rocks." Ever since then I will hear requests for the same. We will be in places like the park, or in the Walmart parking lot, or on the way into gymnastics. I keep trying to explain the intricacies of outside pottying. (To potty....is that a verb?) Modesty, number of possible people around vs need to go. No amount of reasoning seems to convince him that it would out weigh the need to pee on a rock. (Is that a physical or a mental/emotional need.)

I am however grateful for the increased desire to go on demand. Thus we have eliminated the need for diapers during the day! YEA!! (And increased the desire to pee outside....a small downside I am willing to live with! :))
