M gets her PERMIT!

Today M took the driver's test and passed! She is going to be a really great driver. She has great awareness which I think is key to good driving. Now we need to work on the skills and the things that separate the good drivers from the...um.. well..just drivers.
On my top 10 list for what makes a good driver

1. Knowing which is the passing lane and which is the driving lane on the freeway and USING them that way.

2. Coming up to speed on the acceleration lane--yes it actually got it's name that way!

3. Using your blinker BEFORE you intend to turn!

What else do you think should be on the list of what makes a good driver?

I'm glad you have confidence in M! That makes me feel better that she is out their driving around!

My biggest driving woes are:
1. People who don't know how to merge- every other car people!

2. Make up drivers. Yea, it's already hard enough to do your make up sitting at you mirror in the bathroom-- like it's really safe to be applying make-up while you drive 65 mile per hour!

3. I also think it's really important that people know that the horn in the car is not to summon people to the car, tell people they aren't driving fast enough, but it is to warn people of life threatening incidences like " beep beep, I'm in your blind spot and you are trying to come over-- I'm here"

How about staying in the correct turn lane when you make those 2 or 3 lane turns. Or any turn, really.

Good luck!!

YAY for Marissa!! And congratulations! I think it's important to pay attention to more than just the car directly in front of you. If you are paying attention to the car in front of that one, then you'll be more aware and more prepared. Maybe that's not driving 101... maybe 104. :)

I'm sure she's going to be an amazing driver!!
