Church again!

So yesterday we went to Stake Conference. We had been right on time, which where we live guarantees us a seat in the luxurious primary room with no TV, just the audio sound over the speaker system.
It was 10 minutes past the time conference was suppose to end and it was beyond time even for the adults. T had taken Gdog on walks around the halls, and Dad had drawn pictures, but sitting in the Primary room, staring at a blank wall for 2 hours was pushing Gdog over the edge...and hey even the adults were anxious for conference to come to a close.

So when the prayer begins we are all ready for it. Only the prayer keeps going. (Wasn't there a talk in conference about that?). I am bracing myself for a comment from Gdog like "Is it over Mommy.?" or "Why isn't the man finished Mommy?" (Cause I know I am thinking "is this prayer or a talk?")
Then I hear a whine, followed by a grunt. Now I am not sitting next to Gdog so I am unable to discern what is going on. I patiently try to ignore my own son and leave Dad and T to deal with whatever it is. Then a loud scared "I AM STUCK! HELP!" I open my eyes to find Gdog with his head in the back of the chair.
You know those plastic stack-able chairs? Well he has put his head through the hole and it is pretty stuck. But the man is still praying, and I don't want to get up and ignore the prayer being said, and the people trying to listen, but Gdog is getting a little frantic and scared and I am sitting on the other side of Dad who it trying to squeeze his head back through the chair.
Not to mention the chuckle of the bishopric member sitting behind us who is no longer listening to the prayer, and instead trying to stifle an all out laugh while watching the scene unfold before him.
Suddenly a picture of the jaws of life come to my mind and I am thinking. "How will we use those in here with out hurting Gdog? and WILL THE GUY BE DONE PRAYING before then!!

Finally Dad manages to free his head and the man at the pulpit ends his prayer.

Ahhh another wonderful day at church.

my boys heads aren't big enough to get stuck yet. I can't wait for that day, because I bet they'll love the attention.

closing prayers should not be more than 30 seconds. and i leave meetings that exceed their time. i mean, if general conference can end on time, there isn't really an excuse for local meetings.

That is too funny! I didn't even know that this had happened. Gavin is such an adventure everyday. Haha

Yes Jocelyn. It really is. I am glad you went back to read it. I hadn't thought about that day for a while. :)
