J Graduates

So as J graduates this year it has been fun to look back at the fun and funny years we have been through.

When she was just one year old she had a doll named Rachel that, against the advice of a parent, she sent flying down the slide. When her eye fell off, Daddy found replacements from the craft store. Only Rachel's new eyes didn't have eyelids...so she ended up being a little "Chucky-like."

I kinda forgot about the "tie" stage. This was in the 5th grade when she wore one of Dad's ties with every outfit. (With a t-shirt and shorts) And of course no remembrance of this era would be complete without mentioning the Christmas cookie decorating incident.

She ran a "save the Manatee" movement at her Intermediate school, she threw up at every YW overnight activity for the first year, and she and her video camera were inseparable.

In high school she swam with the school team, answered dates with a dead fish, and dressed up coconut and heroically sacrificed a tendon for a seminary victory in the "balls in the halls" game.

She is more than I ever imagined she would be, do or become. It has been an amazingly fun and unmistakably wonderful adventure having her in our family.

We anticipate many great experiences in the future and look forward to being a part of the next phase in this amazing adventure we call life!

To my wonderful friend and daughter--I love you so much.
(and I have to say it, cause you expect it....
You can do things that are hard.
Try not. Do or do not. There is no try.
And of course, Go BYU!)
