So Gdog and I were at the store. We were busy finding things for Jocelyn to take to college. Gdog spotted a baby in a stroller. He looked at me and smiled saying "look!"
He walked right over to the Mom and said
"Can I pet your baby?"
The Mom looked puzzled and said "what?"
I quickly corrected, "he wants to know if he can touch your baby."
Ahh...similar circumstances with a slight wording difference....thank you Safety Town (One of the things he learned is to always ask a dog owner before you pet their dog.)
