I went to a class offered by the city of Saint George this past week. It was one of a series on running a better marathon. After the lecture a newspaper writer asked me what I thought about the class. After I told him my thoughts, I said "You're going to make me sound smart...right?" He laughed and told me "Sure". (Yeah, only in the past 16 years we have lived in Saint George I have been quoted 3 times by the paper, and Shawn quoted many times. Only once has the quote been correct, & taken in the correct context.)
So in the interest of giving credit where it is due, here is the quote published on June 17. It is actually what I said, in the context of what I was talking about! :)
Jennifer Farris, a St. George marathon runner, added, "It's nice to come to these lectures; it helps to solidify things that I've heard, and it helps to dispel some myths." One myth in particular Farris has learned over time is that miles aren't everything. To newcomers, Farris suggests, "Worry less about miles, and more about the quality of those miles."
