Ahhh....just go to sleep

"Hey Mom!" Gavin yells from his bedroom, where we have read two books, said prayers and I have tucked him in minutes earlier.
"Gavin.  It is time to sleep." I respond exasperated.  "Close your eyes and we can talk in the morning." I say hoping that he will do just that.  It is 10:00pm, and according to the Better U Challenge, if I am not in bed with my eyes closed in the next 15 minutes I am going to forfeit a point.
"Mom!" he calls again.  "I need to tell you something."
"What is it Gavin?" I reply impatiently.
"Do you know I have sleep panic disorder?" he states as though it was just confirmed by a doctor.
"What?  No!  Go to sleep Gavin." I say trying not to take the bait.
"Yeah," he adds "Sometimes I yell in my sleep --for no reason."
Now a pause of about 30 seconds, followed by
"Ahhh.  You're killing me."  Then another pause.  "Did you hear that Mom?  That was it."

The next morning I go to wake him for family scriptures.  Shawn stops me and says "Maybe you shouldn't wake him."
"Why?" I ask.
"You know.  His sleep panic disorder."

At least he doesn't have Tourette's?

It is so funny. You think he is not listening, yet his little mind is sucking it all up like a sponge. Then a day or so later he will wring it back out in some Gavin twisted way.

Yes we are grateful he does not have Tourette's, nor know the symptoms. We know from previous posts that he knows at least one swear word. :)
