Shawn moves towards the front door and hears some yelling. He sees Gavin with the boy scouts near our flag--which they put out on patriotic holidays. Gavin has a death grip on the pole, and is yelling at the scout who is trying to retrieve it. "This is our flag. Go get your own!"

That's hilarious! How did he see them taking it away? What did the boy scouts do?
I think he heard the truck, and then went out. Gavin knows these boys from fast offering and occasionally needed to accompany me to YW/YM activities--I think he thinks he is one of them. Mike Neidert who is twice as tall as Gavin said "Dude. We'll bring it back on the 4th of July"

It is a good thing he has the corner bedroom. It is the perfect place to keep track, and control the front yard. Thank heaven someone is watching for people on the grass and those who would "steal" important items off the property
