Gavin likes to chat with me as we are driving. This has been especially difficult as Tiffany is learning to drive, because it looks as though I am free to listen to his stories, or look at the object he is pointing at, however my attention is focused on what Tiff is doing at the steering wheel. Mostly I enjoy listening to him tell me about the Lego creation he is planning to build, or how another kid "made" him get into trouble. I love to hear how his mind reasons through things, and why specific things are important to him. He is so VERY smart and curious.
The other day we were driving, my mind forming a "to do" list as we made our way home. It began to rain, and Gavin commented about the rain hitting the windshield. I smiled and turned on the wipers. We both love the rain.
After about a minute of watching the rain he says "Mom you know what the best thing about rain is? Rain is like a portal to the snow."

I like it! Very profound. Too bad it doesn't snow in Saint George very often...He'll just have to come visit me!
