Shawn is taking a trip to visit Southern Europe. It is absolutely what he would choose to do if he had time and money and ability--which he obviously does. :) Since he bought his ticket, I have been wondering what I would go do for a month--if I had the opportunity. I am honestly not sure. It made me curious about what others might do as well. (That's where you come in.)
I pose this question to you; If you could leave your responsibilities for a month, and escape somewhere--simply to relax and recharge yourself, where would you go? What would you do? Who would you go with? Would you go for a month? Or a couple weeks? Would you vacation? Do a service thing? Sit on the beach? Go on a cruise? Ride down the Nile? Hike the mountains? Repel in Yellowstone? I am formulating ideas....help me.

A beautiful view, a stack of books, and about three hours a night with the kids. Repeat.
I would go anywhere with the Runyans. Preferably Lake Powell. For TWO months with endless gorp.
You crack me up--endless gorp! :)
Lake Powell is really great, and hanging with the Runyans...well that is FUN. We are going to have a great time this summer.
I'm not sure! I think a month is a REALLY long time to be away from reality. I'd want to come home early, I think. But I would certainly love a couple of weeks at Lake Powell with the Runyans.
I'd also love to do a couples trip with my brothers and sisters and their spouses, and Mom and Dad. Maybe to Europe? I've never been to Italy and I've always wanted to go. It would be a blast to do a version of the Amazing Race, but with my family as the competitors. (Money is not an issue, right?)
I think I'd rather split my month into 3 vacations that were 10 days each. That way I'd have something to look forward to all the time. :)
I agree with the time. When we went around the world, at about day 18 I was done (and I had 4 days to go!) I can see going longer for something that simply takes longer, but I do start to miss my kids about day 8, and then home around day 18.
I agree, splitting up the time into 3 vacations sounds more fun...too bad it takes so long to get to some places.
I would love to go to Italy again. I feel like we saw such a small part of it when we were there.
I am thinking about talking to Dad about taking us (adults) to his old mission, and seeing some church sites. I REALLY want to visit the sacred grove.
BTW, I always love to see your comments on my blog. Thanks for taking the time to do it for me. :)
