Gavin's New Haircut

I have been cutting Gavin's hair since he was a baby.  He is such a wiggly kid that I figured I would have a better shot at getting it done, than a stylist would.  Inferring from previous dental visits, I can imagine the conversation he would have with the stylist.

"What is that?
What does it do?
Can I push that?
Can I cut your hair?
Why is there all that hair on the floor?
Do you know how to cut a Mohawk?
When did your mom let you cut hair?
Why can't I get down?
Why aren't you faster?
Are you finished?"

For the most part cutting his hair has been a positive experience, and the girls and I have had fun with his hairstyles.  However this year we've begun having arguments about putting gel in his hair and getting it done each day.  I decided this morning--especially considering Lake Powell coming up in a couple weeks--the easiest thing to do would be to give him a crew cut.

He willingly sat through the cut.  It only took 6 minutes instead of the usual 20.  I was thinking we were on to something here.  It was quick, efficient and eliminated the morning hassle.  This was going to be a great summer.

Then he felt his hair and said with disgust "Mom!  My hair feels like my eyebrows!"

haha. What a funny kid. I'm sure it does! It looks pretty short. I'm sure it'll be a great haircut for the Summer though.

It really is short. I am hoping another week and it will be about where I intended it to actually be!
