Gavin brought the paper into me this morning with the question "Can we adopt him mom?" Gavin and I have the same soft heart. (sigh)
He and I read the article together and talked about this dog, Oakley, and how we-- as children of God--have the responsibility to care for animals as well as humans. Then we discussed the possibility that others have already adopted Oakley-- since this paper is a few days old.
Then, honestly, I deflected. (Squirrel) I just can't imagine taking on one more thing right now.
