Gavin's Invitations

This is the first year that we are having a friend party for Gavin.  (Since his birthday falls between Christmas and New Years it is difficult to get together with friends.)

After much discussion, (climbing wall, laser tag, anti-gravity, party at house) Gavin decided to have his birthday party at Sand Hollow Aquatic Center.  I made up invitations according to his list of 9 boys and Marissa drove Gavin around the neighborhood delivering five of them.  The other four invitations were for kids he met this year in school, and I don't know their last names let alone their addresses.

This morning I put the 4 invitations, with the names of the invities on the back of them, in his backpack, and instructed him to hand them out before school.

When he walked thought the door this afternoon, and I asked how it went delivering the invitations.

"It went good" was his reply.
"Were all the boys at school today?"
"Yeah, but I didn't have an extra one."
"An extra invitation?" I quarried
"Yeah, I invited a girl to my party." he said simply.
"OK. Great. Which girl?"
"Serenity.  I told her to come on Monday at 3pm"
"But the party is at the pool." I state waiting for him to put the problem together.
"I told her we'd wait for her."

Bracelet With Powers

Gavin started playing with the bracelet I was wearing.  It has a big jewel the size of a half dollar right in the center.
"You know if I kiss the jewel it will hold the kiss till you need it." he whispers into my ear.
Gavin and I like reading the book The Kissing Hand.  He obviously morphed the idea of holding a kiss in your hand into hiding it in my jewelery.
"Well, then you should put a kiss in there so I can always have one with me" I whisper back.
He kisses it, and locks it in with a clicking sound.  Then he looks into my eyes and says, "You know that it regenerates in there and becomes the hugest kiss.  You better be careful when you let it out."
And.... the story twists into an episode of Ben Ten.

Pretty, Only Better

We were sitting in church yesterday, Gavin sitting next to me.  He noticed a ribbon that I had tied into a bow around my waist.  He picked up on of the long tails and starts looping the end into the bow, tying it into a tighter and tighter knot.  I whisper "Don't do that Gavin, I want it to look pretty in a bow."
Gavin responded, "No this is better.  You'll look like you know karate!"
